A modeler for Mario Power Tennis has revealed the concept art and models for a proposed ‘wa’ counterpart to Peach, known as Wapeach. She looks like she could have made it into the game as is, but they would still have needed to make voice lines, a personality, and the other parts.

The two tweets below show all the images revealed on Instagram, and they are definitely unique. However, I hope this isn’t the end of the design and that this was more of a prototype. I can see why it wouldn’t have been taken as is for an addition. We know this is Mario Power Tennis, thanks to some Instagram comments from the creator.

The concept art shown above displays a lot of potential, but it feels basic when you get to the model shown below. Waluigi and Wario have distinct personalities that are even showcased in their outfits. Wario resembles a burger, and Waluigi mimics a cartoon villain, complementing their personalities.

When you look at Wapeach, it’s hard to see what she would act like besides just an evil version of Peach. Technically, that’s all Waluigi and Wario are; they are just evil versions of Luigi and Mario, respectively. However, they feel like distinct characters that can exist by themselves. Wapeach just looks like a younger peach in a purple outfit.

I concede that this is just my opinion, and maybe I would have needed to see her personality in action before it could click. Still, since we get to see what she could have looked like, it makes me think that it is possible Nintendo would bring in a Wapeach or Wadaisy one of these days. I like the idea, and I know that many fans would love to see additions like those in Mario Party.
