Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, the turn-based strategy RPG from developer Complex Games and publisher Frontier Foundry, will launch a new Execution Force DLC on July 25th, 2023. It’s expected to go for $14.99 USD.

The DLC will add new mission types, weapons, armor, and four new units. These include the Vindicare, Eversor, Culexus, and Callidus Temples. According to a new post on Steam, these units will still need to be unlocked by progressing timeline events in the main campaign.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters originally launched in May 2022, and is available now on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. You can watch today’s Execution Force trailer on the game’s official YouTube channel:

The new Tentarus Hive Missions seem relatively straightforward, but Boarding Action Missions will feature the novel pressure of a ticking clock, as well as the interior of Death Guard cruisers. They’ll add five new map variants, which are always fun to explore.

Either way, discovering fresh ways to play should definitely please fans who invested at launch, and perhaps interest newcomers who weren’t sold by the familiar genre mechanics.

Perhaps most impressive are the new units that players can wield. They are each distinguishable, not only in their role, but in their culture and art design, upholding the high standards of lore set by the Warhammer universe.

The units will offer range, melee, supernatural and stealth abilities that seem effective enough to shake up the meta. But they aren’t restricted to tropes, either, which makes them as flexible as any other unit. For example, the Callidus Assassin may work with stealth, but they can also disable from range.

Surprisingly, today’s blog post on Steam also states that even more details will be revealed before launch. But the DLC already seems like a decent purchase, with enough new content to justify the price tag.
