My Time at Sandrock is a beautiful simulation game that allows players to live out their lives as community members. As one of the several builders, players are constantly involved in all the latest happenings around the town. When something happens, the Builder is always notified first and is expected to help come up with solutions.
During special events or every Sunday, the townspeople will all gather and discuss what’s been happening around the town. If something bad has happened, this is where everyone discusses the solutions that the town can put in motion. However, the game doesn’t do a great job of telling you where to go for these events.
How to attend the Fireside Chats in My Time at Sandrock

Every Sunday, you can find the interim-Mayor Matilda giving a speech in the town square, known as the fireside chat. While she may have less to say during quiet weeks, this is where the player will need to go when there is an important event to discuss. Unless another location is specified, this is where players will go to attend special town hall events.
In addition to the discussions that happen after major story events, the player can also use this time to interact with the different villagers that attend the fireside chat. If Matilda has said something important, you may even be able to discuss it with the other residents to increase the social level.
There are other places that My Time at Portia doesn’t do a great job of telling where the player to go, so they’re left running around Sandrock looking for a time-limited event. The fact that the game can provide event reminders but not a location feels a little frustrating when you’re playing for the first time.
The events are so much fun, so it’s unfortunate that Pathea doesn’t tell the player how to find them. That being said, they aren’t usually mandatory, and the player will get a letter with the Fireside details if they don’t make it to the event the night before. This usually includes what they’re fixing and how the Builder can help prepare the parts.
Overall, these Fireside Chats make My Time at Sandrock feel like a much more immersive place, with all the characters coming together to think up a solution. While the weekend Fireside Chats are a little tame by comparison, they’re still a great way to get close with your neighbors.
