Where to find the Warmaster’s Shack vendor in Elden Ring

The Warmaster's Shack is easy to find in Elden Ring but Knight Bernahl will eventually.
Elden Ring Warmaster Knight

Anyone who has found the Warmaster’s Shack in Elden Ring knows that the vendor, Knight Bernahl, sells some great Ashes of War, but he eventually leaves the area. Like many other NPCs in Elden Ring, his whereabouts are a mystery until players progress or put the pieces together themselves. If you’re looking to pick up some new Ashes of War from the Warmaster’s Shack or you simply want to find Knight Bernahl, this guide will outline each stage.

Knight Bernahl’s location after leaving the Warmaster’s Shack in Elden Ring

When enough progress is made in Elden Ring, Knight Bernahl will leave his vendor spot at the Warmaster’s Shack. He doesn’t leave any notes for his location and there is no indication of when he might leave. But the progress point that players need to look out for is reaching the Volcano Manor in the northwest of the Altus Plateau. Knight Bernahl can be found within the manor, and that marks his departure from the Warmaster’s Shack.

The unfortunate part of the progress is that Knight Bernahl will no longer sell Ashes of War skills at all. Instead, he is part of the House Tanish quests and can be found behind the locked doors. Speaking to Lady Tanish and accepting her offer will allow the use of the doors down the hallway. Knight Bernahl will be sitting and waiting to speak with players to begin the questline.

If you are nowhere near the Volcano Manor in Elden Ring, then there is no reason to worry about the Knight’s location just yet. He can even be killed for his armor set when sitting in the shack, but the area must first be located.

Where is the Warmaster’s Shack in Elden Ring

The shack with Bernahl can be found as early as Limgrave and he’s an easy vendor to use for Ashes of War. Anyone who is following the main quest to the Storm Gate will eventually run into the Stormhill Shack. Heading directly east down the main path from there will lead directly to the Warmaster’s Shack.

Skills that he sells can be great for early game upgrades to scaling on weapons, but they are not the early options. Exploring the map for scarabs and chests can be some of the best ways to get new Ashes, even after the Knight leaves the shack eventually.

Make sure to keep an eye out for other vendors within Elden Ring, and make good use of the Ashes of War collected in the world.

That’s everything you need to know about finding the Warmaster’s Shack in the game! Be sure to check out the Elden Ring section of our website for more great guides.
