Wild Hearts is a fast-paced action game with a vibrant, stylized aesthetic and a synth-pop soundtrack, where players travel through surreal and dreamlike landscapes, battling foes, and dodging obstacles. There are many different materials and ingredients you might need to progress and craft things in the game, including many that drop from Giant Kemono. This is our Ragetail Materials Guide for Normal, Mighty, and Volatile Ragetails in Wild Hearts and how to get the different materials available in-game.
Ragetail Materials Guide – Normal
Ragetails are Giant Kemono that can be found on the Blossom Trail during Chapters 1 and 2. Their Elemental Weakness is Fire, and they are weak to Blunt and Slashing weaponry. To swiftly take down a Ragetail, you will want to focus attacks on its head, where it is softest, or by destroying its tail and gives you an easier to time for charge attacks.
Here are all of the crafting and upgrading materials that normal Ragetails can drop so that you can craft or upgrade armor/weapons to get to end-game hunts!
Crafting Material | Notes |
---|---|
Ragetail Claw | Defeat |
Ragetail Fang | Defeat or Break head when enraged |
Ragetail Pelt | Break head |

Ragetail Materials Guide – Mighty
Mighty Ragetails are Giant Kemono that can be found on the Blossom Trail during Chapters 3 and 4, but you can often look for icons of this beast on the main map by participating in ongoing hunts. They also have an Elemental Weakness that is Fire, and they are weak to Blunt and Slashing weaponry. To take down a Mighty Ragetail, the battle is similar, you’ll just need to be more agile, more alert, and make sure you have the appropriate gear to do battle effectively.
Here are all of the crafting and upgrading materials that Mighty Ragetails can drop so that you can craft or upgrade armor/weapons to get to end-game hunts!

Their weaknesses are the same regardless of level, but they will be stronger and more challenging at the Volatile level.
What separates your ability to successfully take down a Volatile Ragetail and a normal one is really your gear and mastery of Karakuri to effectively block/shield damage, dodge and avoid obstacles, and generally maneuver to do the most damage while taking the least damage possible.
