Wild Horse Islands Valentine’s Day Event update log & patch notes

Wild Horse Islands has released its new V-Day Event update on February 10th, 2023. In this patch, you will find a wide-variety of changes and bug fixes have been added to the experience. These will hopefully help clear up any issues you may have had and allow you to find some new stuff to do in the game.

Limited Horses

• There are 3 limited horses to obtain!
  — Pink Splash Overo Paint Horse
  — Cupid Fjord
  — Love Dapple Friesian
• As always, you can find all horses on any island in the wild or shop for Valentine’s Tokens!

Velvet Hearts

• You can obtain Velvet Hearts by
  — Harvesting Velvet Heart Rocks on any island (+2-4 Velvet Hearts)
  — Helping others harvest Velvet Heart Meteors (+25-35 Velvet Hearts)
  — Completing Cupid’s Loop (+3 Velvet Hearts)
  — Completing Valentine’s Show Jumping (+2 Velvet Hearts)
• Velvet hearts can be given to Cupid or used on the Cloud Fountain, both on Sky Island, for a special reward!
• You can also use Velvet Hearts to craft any of the 4 limited colours:
  — Rocky Red
  — Rocky Pink
  — Love Fade (matches Love Dapple Friesian)
  — Creamy Fade (matches Cupid Fjord)

Event Shop

• Larry has an event shop which uses Valentine’s Tokens!
  — You can obtain Valentine’s tokens by doing regular activities such as races, quests, capturing horses, harvesting resources, etc.
• Larry sells most of the limited items that you can get from Cupid, but not all!

Sky Island

• A portal has appeared on Mainland (near the farming shop), use it to go to Sky Island!
• On Sky Island, you will find Cupid (takes Velvet Hearts), the Cloud Fountain (takes Velvet Hearts), and the Valentine’s Show Jumping race
• Try not to fall off the clouds!

Cupid

• Trade Cupid 10 Velvet Hearts for a special reward.
• Trade Cupid a total of 1,800 Velvet Hearts to receive a Love Dapple Friesian!
• Cupid’s rewards are:
  — Patterned accessories (Valentine’s Hearts (w), Valentine’s Hearts (r), Valentine’s Roses, & Valentines Candy Hearts)
  — Halters (Valentine’s Halter (p), Valentine’s Halter (w), Rose Halter, & Candy Heart Halter)
  — Chocolate Dipped Strawberry (Mouth accessory)
  — Valentine’s Basket (Tail/Carry accessory)
  — Love Letter Aura
  — Candy Heart Aura – 3 variant categories, 6 variant options
  — Tail Hearts – 2 variant categories, all colours
  — Candy Hearts (Food – x25)
  — Face Winged Heart – 2 variant categories, all colours
  — Tail Winged Heart – 2 variant categories, all colours
  — Rose Aura – 1 variant category, 8 variant options
  — Love Letter – 2 variant categories, all colours (mouth accessory)
  — Heart Shield – 1 variant category, all colours (shoulder accessory)
  — Mouth Rose – 1 variant category, all colours
  — Heart Glasses – 2 variant categories, all colours
  — Cupid’s Bow – 2 variant categories, all colours (shoulder accessory)
  — Heart Teddy – 2 variant categories (5 bear colours, all heart colours) (tail/carry accessory)
  — Hoof Trails – 3 variants (Pink & White, Pink & Black, Cupid)
  — Broken Heart Shield – 2 variant categories, all colours (shoulder accessory) – rare to get 2 different colours
  — Heart Head Boppers – 2 variant categories, all colours
  — Heart Balloon – 1 variant category, all colours
  — Heart Carriage – 3 variant categories, all colours
  Cloud Fountain
• Throw in 100 Velvet Hearts for a special reward!
• Cloud Fountain rewards are:
  — Floating Cloud Aura – 4 variant categories, all colours – 3d aura – unique to Cloud Fountain
  — Floating Heart Aura – 4 variant categories, all colours – 3d aura – unique to Cloud Fountain
  — Love Arrow Lance – 2 variant categories, all colours – unique to Cloud Fountain – functional jousting lance.
  — Hair Dyes
  — Red/Pink Fade, Pink/Red Fade, Creamy Fade, Rose Gold, Brown/Pink Fade, Pink/Gold Fade, Love Fade
  — Heart Head Boppers – 2 variant categories, all colours
  — Heart Balloon – 1 variant category, all colours
  — Heart Carriage – 3 variant categories, all colours

Changes to Limited Item Tags

• You will notice that some of your limited items no longer state “’22” in them (for example, some items will say “Halloween Limited” instead of “Halloween ’22 Limited”
• Items without the year indicator may become obtainable again in the future year’s events.
• This also applies to some animals such as:
  — Ghost Horses (may return in future halloween events)
  — Fawn Horses (may return in future holiday events)
  — Reindeer (may return in future holiday events)
• Any item or animal with the year indicator will never become obtainable again.
• This is a necessary distinction for us to make so going forward, nobody is confused on whether or not a certain limited item or horse will return.
• As a rule of thumb, breed-specific limited horses such as the Love Dapple Friesian, Skeleton Arabian, Pumpkin Percheron, etc, will never become obtainable again, but accessories and dyes may.

Other

• Abbie & Sweetie now have more options in their shops
• You can now search your inventory
• You can now sort your horses by “Breeding Cooldown”
• You can now pin your current quest to your screen (new quests auto pin, you can disable autopinning in settings)
• Want to help get your friends into Wild Horse Islands? Invite them to the game and when they join for the first time, you can teleport to Tutorial Island to help them out!
• Updated lighting
• Reworked Harvesting to support multi-player-harvesting (Heart Meteors)
• Fixed v1 friesian look around animation
• Infernal horses now have an inifite Lava/Fire Resistance effect! You can still use Lava Cakes on regular horses to make them resistant to lava/fire, too.
