World of Warcraft and Fortnite are potentially getting a crossover soon that some think is a new encounter.

Fortnite is one of the most popular live-service games in the world, up there with the great MMORPGs like World of Warcraft. Now two games seem to have found each other in the multiverse, with some data miners claiming that there are files for spells in the game that are somehow related to Fortnite, although it’s unclear the extent of these files or if they’re just inspired by the title

The leaks were shared by popular Twitter data miner ShiinaBR, who shared images of the WoW logo and the specific files that are related to the game. The names are related to popular Fortnite memes like “Cranking 90s,” “Slurp Drink,” “The Storm,” and a handful more. The files were originally datamined by WoWHead who rightfully comments that these spells seem to all reference one person or creature called The Renegade Looter.

The “Renegade Looter” could also be a reference to Fortnite, with players finding loot during the match as a big part of the game. This could be a new dungeon or encounter that sees a character or monster inspired by Fortnite appearing inside the classic MMORPG. Since World of Warcraft is the lesser likely of these two to collaborate, one has to wonder if a skin or other event will come to Fortnite as well.

Nothing has been confirmed by either Blizzard or Epic Games as this is just based on in-game files in World of Warcraft right now. However, with it being such a monumental title, it would make sense that Fortnite could also see some kind of collaboration in the near future. We’ll have to wait for official word from either brand to be sure though.
