What’s New in WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2?
In the Season of Discovery Phase 2 for WoW, players can now level up to 40. The addition of Gnomeregan as a 10-player raid offers fresh challenges with detailed guides on loot, quests, and bosses available for players. This phase also introduces new runes and significant leveling updates to enhance the player experience. Among these are the “Discoverer’s Delight” XP buff for levels 1-25, increased XP from completing the BFD Raid and Waylaid Supplies, and the introduction of new Skill Books in 5-player dungeons. These books provide class-specific abilities without occupying a rune slot, affecting classes such as Druids, Hunters, Mages, and more.
Profession levels see an increase to 225, expanding crafting capabilities with 20 new recipes across all non-gathering professions, including epic helms, enchants, engineering items, and alchemy recipes. However, profession specializations will not be introduced until Phase 3. The crafting of new recipes requires new materials, usable across different professions, indicating a more interconnected crafting system. World Buffs receive adjustments in this phase, with certain buffs capped at level 39 and the introduction of a new World Buff in Gnomeregan.
Phase 2 also marks the start of the Stranglethorn Fishing Tournament and introduces a new open-world PvP event, “The Blood Moon,” in Stranglethorn Vale. This event turns the entire zone into a free-for-all PvP battleground, offering unique challenges and rewards, including class-specific items and new mounts. PvP matchmaking will see adjustments to better balance solo players, small groups, and premades. Notably, Gold Bid Raids, or “GDKP,” will no longer be permitted, shaping a new direction for raid participation and rewards.
