A wide variety of gaming platforms in the last few years have been giving away free games with subscriptions, with Xbox being one of the first. The Games with Gold program, which provides free games to those with an Xbox Live subscription, has announced the next two titles available on the program: Darkwood and When the Past was Around.

Xbox made the announcement in a news post on the official blog, giving a rundown of when players can redeem each game. Darkwood will be available from July 1 to July 31 and When the Past was Around will be available from July 16 to August 15. Players will have until July 15 to claim the current Games with Gold title, The Vale: Shadow of the Crown.

Darkwood is a title survival horror game where players will feel the unease and the tension build as they work to survive in a world of corrupted woods. However, when the sun goes down you’ll need to make sure that you have the proper defenses like traps and barriers. Darkwood doesn’t rely on jump scares so players can rest easy knowing the world relies on itself for the horror.

When the Past was Around is a somber point-and-click title that currently sits at near-perfect review scores on its Steam page. Players will recognize the themes of love, moving on, and letting go through this narrative adventure with a beautifully somber art style.

To make sure that you can get both of these titles, make sure that your Xbox Live subscription is up-to-date and that you redeem them when they become available.
