Xbox is hosting a week-long Free-to-Play Frenzy event from March 19 to March 25. The event is designed to encourage players to explore the platform’s range of free games, including battle royales, space adventures, and sandbox games.
During the Free-to-Play Frenzy event, there will be big discounts for add-ons of popular games. Discounts of up to 65% are offered for games like Brawlhalla, Puzzle Quest 3, and War Thunder. This sale lasts until March 25, allowing players to improve their favorite free-to-play games.
Xbox will showcase several popular free-to-play games during the event. This includes Call of Duty: Warzone, the free battle royale mode within the iconic franchise. Players can also explore the user-generated world of Roblox, the sci-fi universe of Warframe, or the ongoing adventures in Destiny 2 and Phantasy Star Online 2. Additionally, The Finals offers a customizable and fame-driven arena for those seeking a unique combat experience.
The original post from Xbox goes over the deals in detail. If you own an Xbox, these are pretty great deals. However, it feels like it’s out of nowhere, so it may be a precursor to something. Looking at the games offered, there is a wide range in popularity. DC Universe Online is nowhere near as popular as Call of Duty. So, it seems this is a good way to get more players on the Xbox servers of some games. That’s just a guess, though.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will also get extra goodies from this. The subscription service gives access to exclusive Perks for certain free-to-play games like Smite, Warframe, DC Universe Online, Hawked, Vigor, and Super Animal Royale. These Perks include cosmetic items and in-game boosts, so there’s a good reason to participate.
