Xbox has just revealed the complete list of Game Pass Core titles that will be available at launch tomorrow, September 14th, 2023. It turns out that just half of the titles were revealed back in July, alongside Xbox’s introduction trailer for the service.

It has now been confirmed there will be 36 total games at launch, previously expected to be “more than 25”. Some indie highlights from today’s list include:

  • Astroneer
  • Human Fall Flat
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
  • Slay the Spire
  • Vampire Survivors

Some of the bigger budget standouts are:

  • The Elder Scrolls Online
  • Gears 5 Game of the Year Edition
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Fallout 76
  • State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

You can find the entire list of games on today’s official Xbox news post. For an overview of the new Xbox Game Pass Core subscription service, you can revisit the introduction trailer on the Xbox YouTube channel:

Fans are getting far more titles than expected, which should help alleviate some of the frustration with the recent pricing and tier changes. It’s a shame to see Xbox Live Gold be discarded like this, as longtime fans will recall that classic gold banner on game cases. But there are some genuinely rewarding titles in the Game Pass Core service.

Vampire Survivors and Slay the Spire remain among the most beloved games in the indie scene, with countless clones, which alternately offer a slight twist or none at all.

The emphasis on indie games is much appreciated, even if they’re mostly staples of the past. PowerWash Simulator, Stardew Valley and INSIDE are obvious selections, but Superliminal is a welcome surprise.

And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge only just added the Dimension Shellshock DLC at the end of last month. Although indies might have less financial value than the latest AAA titles, there’s a lot of quality in today’s list.
