This June, Xbox Live Gold members and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are in for an exciting, narrative-based gaming experience. As part of their Games with Gold benefit, they will have limited-time access to two games, Adios and The Vale: Shadow of the Crown, exclusively available on Xbox One and Xbox Series. The Games with Gold program is included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions, which also provides access to a vast library of games.
Adios will be accessible from June 1 to 30. The game spins an intricate story around a Kansas pig farmer caught in a moral quandary, wrestling with his decision to cease assisting the mob in disposing of bodies on his property. The narrative explores the challenging choices the player must make, with the hitman friend attempting to persuade the farmer to reconsider his decision while being fully aware of the deadly implications of refusal. Enhanced by thoughtful writing and exceptional voice acting, Adios weaves a contemplative examination of morality and spirituality, culminating in the critical question: will it truly be farewell?
Starting June 16, continuing through to July 15, players will have the chance to delve into The Vale: Shadow of the Crown, another narrative-driven offering. The Vale stands out as an avant-garde audio-focused adventure that uses sound and haptic controller feedback to build an immersive gaming experience. Players can anticipate an intense connection to their in-game character as they navigate the game’s world, guided by the nuanced soundscape. With the enemy’s breath in their ear, the distinct crunch of footsteps, and the clanging of weapons, players can fully engage in the game’s sensory environment. Combat in ‘The Vale’ breaks away from the conventional approach, offering an experience distinctly different from standard combat and fantasy games.
