Xbox has announced that Diablo IV will be available on their Game Pass subscription service from March 28th. Players on both Xbox consoles and PCs will be able to access the action RPG, making it a new addition to the Game Pass library. We’ve been awaiting this since Microsoft bought Activision-Blizzard, and it’s finally here.
PC players who want to play Diablo IV through Game Pass can do so by following a few simple steps. Firstly, make sure you have the Xbox app installed on your PC and are signed in with the Microsoft account connected to your active Game Pass subscription. Then, find Diablo IV in the Xbox app and start the installation process. It’s all fairly straightforward on Xbox, but this doesn’t mean you won’t need the Battle.net launcher on PC.
If you don’t have the Blizzard Battle.net launcher yet, you’ll be asked to install it. According to the announcement, this is necessary for playing Diablo IV, even through Game Pass. After installing the launcher, you must link your Battle.net account to your Microsoft account. If you don’t have a Battle.net account, you can create one during this process. You will absolutely need to keep this launcher on your PC for as long as you plan on using Diablo IV.
After connecting your Battle.net and Microsoft accounts, you can finish installing Diablo IV. Once the installation is done, you’re set to start your adventure in Sanctuary’s eerie and demon-filled world. It’s worth mentioning that Diablo IV isn’t currently accessible on Xbox Game Pass via cloud streaming (xCloud). So, if you wanted this on mobile, you’re going to have to wait a bit. Also, players need an active internet connection to enjoy Diablo IV, as it’s designed to be played online.
For those of you who have been waiting for this day to come, it’s here, so go ahead and play the game.
