Xbox has just released a complete look at the upcoming Remix Special Edition controller, with materials and visuals that celebrate Earth Day.

The new controller is available for pre-order today, and is slated to roll out on April 18th, 2023. Earth Day is celebrated the same week on April 22nd, 2023. Here are all of the preview images from Xbox’s announcement in their official Twitter feed:

Xbox has released a variety of controllers lately, including everything from Deep Pink controllers to Sonic the Hedgehog tie-in controllers. There may also be a Starfield-themed controller, according to some potential leaks. Xbox has done a tremendous job of letting players customize their controllers, offering all kinds of color schemes and technology.

This controller was the perfect opportunity for Xbox to harken back to its classic green theme. Green was a central color on the original console’s logo, and it is still prominently featured on physical game copies. The Remix Special Edition controller has soft, nuanced tones that certainly feel very earthy and unique, especially compared to many of the lavish IP collaborations.

It’s always great to see larger companies acknowledge and invest in eco-friendly products. When PlayStation unveiled the PS VR2 console last February, it emphasized some interesting environmentally friendly features.

Similarly, Xbox took a creative approach and built the Remix Special Edition out of some “recovered plastics” and “reclaimed materials”. This way, players who invest in the controller can feel like they supported the environmental cause a bit, too.

At this time, the controller is expected to cost around $84.99, but it could vary. With such a steep price tag, it definitely owes players those unique parts. Still, each controller will be totally unique because of its materials, and they will come with a rechargeable battery pack.
