In celebration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a new post from Xbox has announced a crossover giveaway, featuring exclusive Xbox Wireless Controllers that have a built-in scent diffuser. This diffuser is shaped like an actual slice of pizza.
The controllers will also have four variants, one for each of the titular turtles, representing their signature weapons and unique personalities. Here’s an official promo image of all four controllers, from today’s Xbox post:
Xbox fans can enter to win the giveaway starting today, and lasting through August 13th, 2023, by simply following Xbox Wire and retweeting their giveaway tweet.
Naturally, Xbox’s new post today also mentioned that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is available on Game Pass, setting a precedent for more collaboration. The arcade beat ’em up was an instant classic, and currently has a new Dimension Shellshock DLC coming later this year.
Xbox has committed to many custom controllers that have a noticeable gimmick. Back in April, Xbox released a Remix Special Edition design that was built from recovered plastics and reclaimed materials.
However, it’s arguable that the beloved turtles wound up with one of the most bizarre designs yet. It seems like the designers did their best to keep the clunky pizza slice out of the way, but adding scents to an Xbox controller is a little odd. Enjoying a real pizza with your friends could’ve been enough.
Of course, these controllers remain a fine collector’s item. Conceptually, it has the charm of a kid’s imagination, and the artwork itself is fun. There’s plenty of ooze and colorful imagery that matches the tone of the film. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem premieres next month.
