Ubisoft has announced the Open Beta for their highly anticipated high-seas adventure, Skull and Bones. From February 8 to 11, 2024, prepare to raise the anchor and test your mettle on PC (Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
No pre-registration is required, according to the blog post, because it is an open beta. Preload begins on February 6, allowing you to jump straight into the action when the Beta officially kicks off at 6:00 PM PT on February 7. The beta will end on February 11 at 3:00 PM PT. It is open to PlayStation 5, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and Xbox Series X|S by going to their stores and looking for the game. You can download it there.
During the Beta, you’ll be able to explore familiar waters like the Red Isle and the Coast of Africa, honing your skills in the pirate den of Sainte-Anne. Seasoned captains can venture into the brand-new East Indies region, offering fresh challenges and opportunities. You can progress through Main Campaign Contracts to build your reputation and unlock the world, though Infamy progression will be capped at Brigand rank 1. However, exploration and activities like looting, hunting, and completing contracts remain unrestricted.
Open Beta participation comes with exclusive rewards at launch, such as ship cosmetics, an emote, a pet lemur, and a powerful weapon. Twitch viewers can also unlock a pet by watching streamers with Drops Enabled for at least an hour.
If you’re eager to be even more involved, you can sign up for the Skull and Bones Insider Program to participate in future playtesting initiatives. Ubisoft also encourages players to capture their pirate moments with the in-game photo mode.
It seems like the fun is all over except for Steam, which will not host the game at all. It’s interesting to exclude Steam and not Epic Games, but this encourages many others to download Ubisoft Connect or go to the Epic Games Store if they’re on PC.
